opinion of capstone

From what i saw i think the key to having a good capstone is to not procrastinate and it will turn out good.  I found it surprising how horrible the guy who did audio's capstone was and makes me feel good about mine.  The MIDI music he produced was of something i could have done by the end of my intro to digital audio class.  I look forward to turning heads with not only my audio capabilities but also my ability to write and compose as well as my story writing capabilities.

1.      Why did you choose this for your capstone project? What are some of the changes that you had to make between your original idea and what you are presenting today?

I am applying to different jobs in May and  this seemed like the most logical step.  I didn’t actually change my idea. 

2.      What is your opinion of the timeline for your capstone? Was it helpful or a waste of time? Why?

 It was restrictive and a waste of time.

3.      If you could change anything about your capstone, what would that be?

I would get more feedback as i was doing it from people and faculty.

4.      What advice would you give me in planning for my capstone?

Do something the requires you to learn something

Why did you choose this for your capstone project?

1.      What are some of the changes that you had to make between your original idea and what you are presenting today?

Has an entrepreneurship dream of creating an urban agriculture company.  Originally  I was going to make a video and decided to use a more stand alone medium.

2.      What is your opinion of the timeline for your capstone? Was it helpful or a waste of time? Why?

I think it is helpful but you have to stick to your own plan no matter what. Your mentor is not going to force you.

3.      If you could change anything about your capstone, what would that be?

I would continue it more.

Ive dabbled in writing music before so I figured I would give this a shot.

Nothing really.

Im the wrong person to ask for that, I procrastinate. 

3.      If you could change anything about your capstone, what would that be?

To start on it sooner.

Not procrastinate.

Timeline process

For my timeline we met as a group and broke it down into what each individual person is going to do to complete our capstone.  Once we knew what everyone was going to do then we established an order.  The went through each individual step and gave ourselves the amount of time we will need to complete them.

I enjoyed talking about my capstone with someone i didn't know.  IT was interesting to hear someone elses opinion and take on my plan.  It made it seem like more of a capstone than just an idea.  It got me pretty excited to start working on it.  I didnt really gain any insight on my own project because the guy i was paired up with was doing something totally different than me.

 I think i have mine narrowed down to one solid idea.  This is a lot more than i could say for myself two weeks ago.  I have a passion for music and there was no doubt in my mind i wanted to use my music as a major contributor for my capstone, but how?  The idea of doing an album is just way too over used and the same goes for a musc viideo. Besides, just recording, mixing and mastering an album would be rather boring and time consuming for presenting so i wanted something that would display make it easier for someone to listen to more than one of my songs without staring at the transport on a computer and becoming bored after the first track.  However, a music video is too short.. So i thought why not combine the two.  I am going to make a short film that is led by the music.  It will flow back and forth from diologue to music to tell a story. The story is my next step.  I want it to be a drama with a twist and some comedic relief.  This is going to be a story that means alot to my band mate derek and i because it is something we have both experienced and helped eachother through.  A lot of my inspiration comes from derek, my love for music and a little of being pushed to make a decision with my graduationdate rapidly approaching.  I look forward to starting my story in the very near future.

What is a capstone?  This is a chance for me to demonstrate my talent in more ways than one.  I cant wait to not only show off my skills in audio and video production and design as well as my bands talent!  I have finally come up with the idea i think i am going to use and look forward to doing it.  This is going to be not only my chance to prove to employers im a worthy candidate but this is also going to be a great piece for my press kit when trying to find shows for my band down the road. So to me a capstone is going to be many things that i plan on using he rest of my life.
